Ist Kuching Brigade Caroling at home, Dec '07

19Dec 2007

'We bring you good news of great joy. This very day in David's town, a Saviour is born. He is Christ, the Lord.'

Indeed, Christmas is a truly a time to of great joy as we remember the love that Christ brings into the world. A King is born!

It's the day for the Boys' and Girls' Brigade Caroling. Thank God for the good weather and for bringing all the members who turned up throughout the practices and the actual day. Although this year we only went to 4 houses in a night, it's a joyful and meaningful time of spreading the good news to all hearts that are open for God's salvation love.

GB Cadets' Camp

23-24 Nov 2007

St. Thomas Cathedral, Kuching.
Girls' Brigade Cadets' Camp.

It was a good and rewarding time taking care of the little ones during these 2 days of camp.

For me, I learn a lot in managing the girls in my group for the activities carried out during the camp. I truly thank God for such lovely children who brings with them an open heart as they learn and grow together as children of God in the Girls' Brigade. Each of us (helpers) were given two girls under our care throughout the camp. My two girls were good and obedient children so I didn't have much difficulty putting them to bed after the vesper session. During the workshop session, we taught them craftwork for different age group. For my group, Amanda and I prepared some pop-up Chrismas cards for the 8 years old girls. Im impressed by the creativity of the different children as they completed their cards. Some of them could really make beautifully-decorated cards for their friends or family members. Overall, I thank God for this precious opportunity to be involved in this Cadets' Camp and to be in contact with these little children.

~CaRoLs~

Im back from carolling practice today. It's been a long time since I last joined the 1st Kuching Girls' and the Boys' Brigade Carolling when I was in my secondary school days.. And it's just so nice to have the opportunity to be part of this carolling family again as Im now back in Kuching for my semester holiday till after Christmas. This is our second practice for the carolling this year.. and it's a bit disappointing to see the very small number of members who turned up for the past two practices. We used to have a large group of members joining the carolling in the past with so much fun and laughter. GB and BB Carolling has been one of my most memorable and fun days which I remembered. I hope that more members will be coming and sing carols for the LORD as we celebrate His precious gift of love into the world.

Hmm.. Im really glad that Im able to be back and join in the Girls' Brigade activities as we are now planning for the Cadets Camp coming up soon on the 23-24 November in church.
